The Conference will be held between Sunday 5th June and Sunday 11th June 2022, in the Aula Magna, Facultad de Ciencias Económicas (Universidad de Alcalá). It is organised by members of several Spanish institutions (MNCN-CSICUniversidad Complutense de MadridEvoAdapta Group- University of Cantabria, IH-CSIC; Museo Arqueológico Regional, Museo Geominero, , Dinopolis Foundation ,  and it is supported by the University of Alcalá,  Spanish Paleontological Society, Transmitting Science, the International Council for Archaeozoology (ICAZ), the Sociedad de Amigos del MNCN and the TaphEn European network.

The location of Madrid, right in the centre of the Iberian Peninsula, makes an easy destiny for other private trips before or after the meeting to historical and valuable touristic places. By train, cities like Sevilla is at 2:30 hours, Córdoba 1:30 hours, Valencia 1:30 hours, Barcelona 3:00 hours, or local trains to nearby Aranjuez, Segovia or Toledo.  In Alcalá de Henares city centre, most buildings have recovered their original structure making the city a charming town.

Alcalá de Henares town is 35kms from Madrid capital, half an hour distance by train/car. The airport, Adolfo Suarez-Barajas, located between Madrid capital and Alcalá de Henares town, connects different cities worldwide.

  • Train: There are no direct trains from Madrid Barajas Airport to Alcalá de Henares. However, it is possible to take the train from terminal T4 towards Principe Pio, and change at Atocha station to line C-7, or C-2, to Alcalá de Henares, or Guadalajara. This option takes around 1 hour for 3,25€.
  • Bus: The most direct and cheap option to get to Alcalá de Henares from the airport is Bus no. 824. This bus leaves from terminals T1, T2 and T3, and travels directly to Alcalá de Henares. It takes approximately 45 minutes for 3,60€.
  • Taxi: Taxis are a very convenient way to get straight to your hotel door in Alcalá de Henares. Generally, a taxi takes 25-35 minutes for 30-45€.
